Ik beschrijf mezelf als: describe myself as i "really am, " eh? :) well, here goes... i'm a large, curvacious, woman who is a collection of contradictions. generally speaking, i consider myself a luddite, although i love my ipod and dvds. i love reading, writing letters (with fine papers and pens, a'course), art, and a wide variety of music.
although i'm 34, i spent about 20 years taking college courses and have an M.A. in Philosophy (specializing in 20th century French Existentialism), and i'm a literature and poetry junky. in general, i consider myself a student... of the above, yes, but music, film, as well as people and life.
ideas and principles are perhaps the most important things to me: curiosity, openness, kindness, wit, bravery (in the true sense of the term, not "physically"), sensitivity, and a sincere appreciation for others, for the beauty in the seemingly "mundane, " and for the joy of silliness. :)
while i love to go out to restaurants, gritty hole-in-the-wall bars, concerts, museums, etc., i'm also a bit of a homebody (i write, paint, sew, and am learning to embroider - all the things that happen indoors). so, perhaps like everyone, i'm looking for someone who is interested in similar things. and, i must admit, that i'm attempting to get past my greatest pessimism: the hope of finding someone and something special, a kind-hearted, eccentric, gentleman with whom i can feel safe and loved, and who i can love and adore. i hope you're out there... :) interested in chatting? try hypatiangrrl on y/a/h/o/o!
