Ich würde mich selbst beschreiben als I am a random design of a flower who wants to lay her hands on the Heaven and the sun and the moon and the stars.
And if you're speaking my language, you can already tell that I am deeply in love with music. I'm a university student studying art, literature, and music, the three things that prove humans aren't all lies or random neuron impulses. Mainly, I'm a photographer and a painter, but I'm also a fiction writer (aspiring novelist) and flute player.
Here on campus, I'm pretty involved, especially with music. I'm a publicist for the university wind ensemble, a varsity fencer, and on the concert board. Some nights you can also find me hanging out at the radio station.
I like to think I do the college thing in my own eccentric way. Yeah, I love to party and drink on the weekends, but I'm usually a bit of a spectacle among the rest of the party-going university crowd. (It takes talent to bartend a college party in a Victorian jacket.)
But let's get back to the music, since that's what's ultimately important here. After a strange experience several months ago, I've been using music like an IV drip to keep myself sane. I'm that insane person in the front row of concerts banging back and forth like a drug addict when really I'm completely sober. And if I like you enough, you're almost certain to find a mixed CD on your doorstep in a few weeks. Mainly, I'm into alternative, progressive, industrial, and gothic rock, though I also enjoy trance, ambient, classical, and electronica. Beyond that, I'll give almost anything a try as long as there's not too much of a country twang and it's not about beating women and rollin' in da hood. Music nerds are always welcome in my life!
My music obsession aside, I have a few ideas about where I'm going with my life. If I could live my dream, I'd like to work in design or writing at a video game company when I graduate. Most people come up with this aspiration when they're twelve years old; I figured out that I wanted to do this last semester when I took a class on the industry. My fall back ideas are concert photographer or working for a publishing company. Of course, it would be great to just live as a novelist or freelance painter and photographer, but I would really like to be able to eat. I've worked as a model in the past, and am considering going back to that in the near future. Currently, I work part-time at the university music department and the environmental initiative.
When I'm not at work or out at a concert, I really enjoy exploring Boston. I'm a bit of a street photographer, so it's a great day if I can just wander around with my camera for hours. On the weekends, I'm not too hard to please. I usually try to get a group together to head out to dinner or a movie or show, or grab a friend and relax on Boston Common and talk about life and other philosophical things.
Where does my family come into all of this? I'm only nineteen years old; one would think they're still a presence in my life. Well, they are, but I've chosen to live on my own even between semesters because I'm not so good at being under surveillance 24/7. Further, my family lives in Maine, and I'm just not a country girl. So it seemed best that I not go home. Ever if possible.
So that's me: a music loving artist and writer, an aspiring human supernova. Can you keep up? Wild things run fast.
